Emerging from walks in nature discovery guides my works, I let the atmosphere, light, and shifting conditions shape my response. My paintings are born from the fields, forest edge, and sky, the landscape I live within and where I feel a sense of belonging. These paintings are rooted in place as the landscape changes with the seasons, the ever changing always gives me something new to notice and gather. Being outside, noticing the light, the colours, the textures, the surfaces which all feeds into my work in the studio. I’m working from a felt experience and I paint what I feel, in direct response to my relationship with my ever changing surroundings.
