simplicity. quiet. moments.
Expressing myself through paint is who I am. Paint has no limitations for me, it offers simplicity in my life and it’s a way of being within the quiet. I have dedicated my days to exploring through paint my relationship with the natural world and sojourn into the quiet through simple quiet musings. In my paintings the landscape represents a simple life, quiet stillness and a moment in time. Paintings from the quiet within the landscape.

perseverance. genuine. integrity.
A steadfast belief in perseverance has given me both life and art. Daily life comes with limitations. After several years of living with chronic illness, I knew that I had to make a lifestyle change if I was to have any life at all. Looking for quiet and simplicity we moved to the country. Now I have a genuine life full of integrity where I spend quiet moments in the natural world and make paintings from my experiences. With empathy, kindness and compassion for my surroundings and all the living creatures I share the land with, I live a simple life, where I can simply be and where my life and art are one.

To see such beauty one needs to patiently stay present in the moment with awareness. Occasionally a glimpse of something special is gifted during these moments of time, real genuine yet simple news. Saved in my memory I remembered the essence of this fleeting moment which I have depicted through paint in STILLNESS AT SUNDOWN.
Through my art practice I begin deconstructing formations found in the surrounding landscape building a painting through the push and pull of light and colour values, the use of thick impasto brushstrokes and loose palette knife work, layers are applied, scraped backed and reworked. Creating surfaces that emerge as luminous woven landscapes, always settling somewhere in between the abstract and realism, through the approach of a process based artist.
